We welcomed Micah into the world on Tuesday, March 31 at 6:31 pm, weighing in at 7 pounds 6 ounces.

I must say we had a wonderful birth experience, all natural.  Sue, you would be very proud of Bryant.  The nurses at the hospital said he was the best Doula they had seen.  I started labouring at 12:30 am on Tuesday and we made our way to the hospital around 11:30.  Ofcourse Bryant was right that we should have waited longer because when we got there we were told everything was progressing well, I was 1 cm!  You're kidding me!  They were a little concerned about Micah's heartrate during contractions so they wanted to monitor us for a bit.  I ended up dilating pretty rapidly.  So we stayed at the hospital.  I think between the hours of 12 and 6 I was in the shower for over three hours.  That was amazing and I couldn't have done it without the comfort of the shower.

The staff was great at Rockyview.  No one pushed any medication or breaking of the water.  They were all so supportive of Bryant and I and kept telling us what an amazing job we were doing.  I pushed for 1 hour 15 minutes.  I ended up needing petocin after Micah came out because there was concern about bleeding.  We were so proud of ourselves and received the best gift in the end.
